Well, we finally signed the closing papers for our house. With the holiday weekend, it will be a little longer for the bank to close on their end. We are getting half promises that it will be next Wednesday. I really hope not later.
I packed all sorts of books and snacks and thing to keep Owen busy on the flight to Las Vegas yesterday, and guess what?!?! He fell asleep on my lap before the plane even left the ground! And he didn't wake up until it touched down. He was a little disappointed when we got off the plane, because he had looked forward to flying on an airplane soooooo much, and it was all over so fast for him. Easy for me.
We spent that same day signing papers and doing the walk through at the house, then we went to a bbq for Nick's dental class. It was up at Mt. Charleston, about an hour out of Las Vegas. It is so surprising to see the scenery change from barren desert, to lush pine filled green landscape. And the best part was how cool the weather felt up there! I didn't want to come back down. So, the next day, today, we flew home with Nick. Owen was very alert and awake this flight, and he loved it! Especially the take off and landing. It was very easy entertaining him on such a short flight. The tv's on the back of every seat definitely helped.
Tomorrow we are filling up a huge moving truck, and Monday we drive it to Vegas, or at least St. George. Owen and I might hang out there at the Miller condo until the house is done closing, but Nick has to head down to Vegas to start the first day of real classes on Tuesday.
Speaking of Nick's classes, the day of orientation that they handed out scrubs, he texted me these pictures.
That's my handsome husband! He spent all last week, and will spend next week until we can get into our house, at his sister Jamie's home in Las Vegas. She and her family have been such lifesavers for us this whole process. We don't know what we would be doing without them! We are so glad they live in Vegas, and look forward to seeing them more often. Owen especially loves being with his cousins!

Hi! That's great that Owen did so well on both flights. It's always stressful trying to do that with a little one, but it sounds like it went just right.
Good luck with the house! I hope you can get moved in soon.
Our house hunting is going well. We've searched the entire area and we finally narrowed it down to a home in Clinton. But it's a short sale, so we won't know if it's going to work out for a couple months, probably. In the meantime we'll keep our eyes open for others that we might like.
I'm glad you were finally able to sign and that things are coming along. That's great about the flight. I know it can be hard sometimes traveling with young children. Keep us posted!
Whew! I'm breathing a sign of relief for you. I hope all continues to go well.
Those are cool scrubs! I am so glad you were finally able to sign. How nice that Owen was so good on the plane! He is so cute! Hope everything keeps going a little more smoothe for you guys!
Glad stuff is moving along...the scrubs look so official! Just wait, he'll be in the dentist jacket before you know it. :)
"Hi! Dr. Nick!"
