I signed up Owen and Teslyn for soccer this fall, and they are loving it!  The season is mid-September to the end of October.

Owen is on a great team and has a great coach.  He has learned a lot. He has one practice day and one game day a week.

 Here is Owen on his stint as a goalie.  He really enjoys defense better than offense.  Must be his non-aggressive personality.

Games and practices are on his elementary school field, so Teslyn loves to play on the playground while we watch and wait. 

  

Teslyn's soccer is once a week, and its more of play time than soccer playing.  But its super cute and fun, and she loves it.  Each little team is coached by 2-3 jr. high ages kids.  They rotate around the field every 10 minutes to play a different activity on a different spot on the field.

The hygienist at Nick's work has some pear and apple trees with more fruit than she would use.  She invited us over to come pick all we wanted. 

 It was really fun for the kids.  And Nick was excited because he wanted to try to can the pears.

 

 I got the supplies and for family night one week we successfully canned our first 12 bottles of pears!  We ate some the next day, and everyone loved it.  Nick was so satisfied, he plans to find more free fruit next year as well! 

 I was feeling very domestic that day as well, as I made chicken and dumplings for dinner.

As well as homemade bread with fresh ground wheat.  This family loves this stuff, and it goes fast with homemade jam.

With Teslyn's birthday and Halloween being the same month, we made a paper chain to count down the days so she could better understand.  Any morning I had her put on one of her Halloween shirts, she asked if it was Halloween yet.  She is pointing to the purple link which is her birthday.
